Book of the Day: Running Form

Title: Running Form

Author: Owen Anderson, PhD

From the book: “Strangely enough, running is one of the very few human activities in which one’s innate way of doing things is viewed as being naturally optimal and therefore not subject to change. In other athletic pursuits, we learned how to swim, to hit a backhand in tennis, and how to snap off a curveball. But when it comes to running, we are allowed to do whatever we want. The implied belief is that each person runs in an optimal way but this not the case.”

Takeaway: This book is for all runners. It will prove useful for runners who have suffered from overuse injuries incurred by bad running technique. It will also help runners who want to get faster by giving clear and practical measures, drills, and techniques on how to refine one’s running pattern so they’ll enjoy moving at faster running speeds with less effort.
